Siddhartha Gautama, the founder of Buddhism born in Nepal. Gautama Buddha left his kingdom after becoming aware of human suffering, where he sought to attain them enlightens through meditation and thoughtful action with mandala patterns. He began to preach his philosophy across different part of world, where he gained devote followers and eventually established SANGHA (Community). Buddhist monks travelled the silk route, an ancient networks of trade routes that connects the east and west. They carried mandalas with them and brought in the practice of paintings this spiritual compositions to other parts of Asia, such as Tibet, China, japan and India by 4th century. Mandala soon become familiar all over the countries and religious practice. Rock carvings found all over the world incorporate the circular form and its variations such as spirals, crosses and concentric circles. It is taught that they express worshipful awe of nature’s cycle and the mysteries of life and death. The alternation of day and night, the ever- changing moon, and the rhythms of the seasons are aptly expressed by circular designs.
The structure of mandala art is based on harmony, balance, and geometric precision, making each piece both visually captivating and deeply symbolic. At its core, a mandala radiates from a central point, creating a sense of unity and completeness that is meaningful across spiritual and artistic traditions.

Three years ago, Bhawani Art Gallery was born with a single vision – to bring the timeless beauty of Mandala Art into people’s lives. What began as a passion soon grew into a journey of creativity, mindfulness, and connection.
Taught 30+ students the art of mandalas, helping them find balance, patience, and self-expression. Completed 300+ custom orders and celebrations more soulful through personalized mandala art. Showcased our work in exhibitions, where our art was celebrated not just as decoration, but as a story of culture, mindfulness, and modern design.
